RE: A Wedding As I See It

ET: 06:56.71 I, Agbeke Adefunke daughter of Omolayo and Ayodele Adeboye take you *****, to be my lawfully wedded husband. On this special day, in the presence of our loving God and these amazing people, I affirm to you my sacred promise to stay by your side and be your G, in sickness and in health, in joy, in sorrow, through the best times and the worst. I will be to you a rock-solid support system, your numero uno cheerleader, your accomplice, greatest travel buddy, your prayer warrior, your queen, your true counterpart and best friend. I promise to love you without inhibition, without reservation. My love for Mercedes Benz, Basketball, Dogs and Babies has nothing on you. I will encourage you to achieve your goals, grow with you in mind and in spirit, always be open and honest with you, be submissive to you and cherish you and all we share for as long as we both shall live, so help me God… Sniff sniff…. You know you are a helpless romantic when you ‘roll out’ a weddi

Happiness: Overrated or Not

I would have used a happy picture of myself here, but this lil princess is just so pretty, I couldn't resist. I remember vividly that day in August 2015, (the 28th to be precise), when I wrote: "today, I am truly happy",  and saved it as a draft on this blog. I was in my comfy corner at Mediacraft  Associates Limited ( oh how I LOVED that place : its people, the indomie and eggs guy, the fried yam/potatoes/dodo woman, Maryland Suya guys, my working hours, the Fleishman Hillard pressure, but most especially the awe-mazing people there :) ) ,   totally at peace with myself and giddy with joy.  I couldn't explain it, or maybe I could: I'd just returned from my first official trip  ever , where I worked with a team of highly intelligent and skilled people to help Nigerian Breweries (Nigeria's pioneer and largest brewing compan y ) break the Guinness World Records of  largest poster in the world ( Read here and here .... a media company in India, has, h

I'M SOMEONE'S #WCW... I gotta brag!!! Whooop whooopp

By Lauretta Eloho Malaka. Her face shaped like a heart reminds me of a lionness , and bet you, she's one. A lionness is a hunter, a protector, and very intuitive. She's a "girl with the heart of a ministering angel and nerves of steel". I met Iyanu , my  # WCW , fondly called Countess PIA, when preparing for SAT a decade ago (*whew* how time flies). She gave me the name co-hostess, the day we were returning from IB after our SAT exams. We were trying to play "bus-hostess" to our colleagues telling them the ir present location etc. Since then our relationship has not died, even if we don't talk often or see (mehn! She's a busy bee).  Let's skip all that rumbling and lemme tell you why she's my crush:  1)She has 100% selflove: she values herself. Why shouldn't she? God told her "you are wonderfully and fearfully made". She and God are like 5 and 6, she has displaced John the Beloved. Just imagine the ki

HOW I SPEND MONEY

I recently returned from Zanzibar; beautiful, beautiful Island. It was a dream. Our hotel was on the beach, my friends and I were the only African tourists there. We had a tour guide, went everywhere, ate all manner of food, had a massage (the very best) and some boat cruise adventure. In fact, there was some snorkeling as well... (my friends helped put my head under the water for a few seconds to see what life was like there, and then I was cheering for them the rest of the time..LOL). Stunning place, Zanzibar! Then 2 months later, I had cause to go to Kaduna for a week on an official assignment. While I was there, I found out that the famous Kajuru Castle was close by. Of course, I had to pay a visit. Goooosshhhh I can't describe how that place made me feel. I was giddy with joy, I felt like a little girl, like a princess in a castle... And then, just a week later, I was on a Dubai-bound plane... In December, I spent my 5-day Christmas holiday at Obudu Cattle Ranch and

WHO CAN I TALK TO?

What I miss the most(est) about being in a relationship is having someone who is obligated to have long conversations with me; conversations about, well, any and everything. Ah mean, in real life, who cares about random things like what my colleague said to my other colleague at work today, and how my boss had to intervene, AND how I started to crave amala at 7am, AND what I did to make the MD summon me just as I was about to leave the office, AND how that dude, the weird one from primary school called from out of the blues, AND how I had a flat tire on 3rd Mainland Bridge on my way home and how a nice man helped to change it... Who cares mehn? Absolutely no one; except a partner who either genuinely cares or would at least sweetly feign interest. I like to talk about the day and I love to listen too; I have one or two people around me who I sometimes rant to when the urge gets intense but most of the time, I'm hesitant because I try to be considerate and then they d
